The stationary TMT drilling machine for non-ferrous and ferroalloy applications is based on the well-proven blast furnace drilling machine design. It is especially suitable for furnaces with just one tap hole and/or tapping temperatures of more than 1700°C. It can be positioned individually on the left or right of the runner or in a space-saving arrangement on one runner side together with the clay gun.
The heart of the drilling machine is the specially developed fully-hydraulic drill hammer. The drilling and hammering functions are designed to ensure efficient drilling of the tap hole without damaging the tap hole structure. Cracks in the refractory lining due to harsh hammering are avoided. The well-conceived design of the TMT drilling machine with a reduced number of motors, cylinders and peripherals ensures high availability even in the case of extreme temperatures.
