The 15th International Ferro-Alloys Congress (Infacon XV) was held at the Century City Conference Centre in Cape Town, South Africa from 25-28 February 2018. INFACON (International Ferro-Alloys Congress) was founded in South Africa in 1974 by the SAIMM (Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy), Mintek (then the National Institute for Metallurgy), and the Ferro Alloys Producers’ Association (FAPA) when the first INFACON was held in Johannesburg. The intention of INFACON is to stimulate technical exchange of all aspects of ferro-alloy production.

TMT once again participated with a four man delegation at the conference and presented the latest updates on technology improvements for tapping and measuring technology to the worldwide customer community at their own booth. The booth was operated together with Dango & Dienenthal South Africa, who is the exclusive licence partner of TMT for the Sub-Saharan region. During the event dozens of customer meetings took place and in intensive technical discussions TMT could demonstrate the technological leadership for tapping technology of ferro-alloys furnaces with more with more than 500 ferro-alloy installations out of a total of than 3.100 TMT installations worldwide.
